Privacy Policy

What we collect

If you sign up for our email list, we store the email address you provide, the page you signed up from, and the date you signed up.

We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which articles get read - this involves cookies and processes some personal data (like a truncated/anonymized form of your IP address) under Google’s own privacy policy. We never see or store your individual browsing activity ourselves; Google Analytics only gives us aggregate numbers (visits, popular pages, that kind of thing).

Your cookie choices

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you’re okay with the analytics cookies above. If you’re visiting from the EU, UK, or Switzerland, analytics stays off by default until you actively accept - everywhere else it defaults on, and you can still decline. Your choice is remembered on this device; declining doesn’t affect anything else about using the site.

Affiliate links

This site contains Amazon/Audible affiliate links (see our affiliate disclosure). Clicking one takes you to Amazon, which sets its own cookies to track the referral - that’s governed by Amazon’s own privacy policy, not ours.

How we use your email

We use it only to send you occasional emails about audiobooks worth your next Audible credit. We don’t sell or share your email address with anyone else. Every email includes an unsubscribe option.

Our social accounts and posting tools

We publish short video versions of our audiobook coverage to our own accounts on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook, using software we run ourselves on our own machines. That software connects only to accounts we own, and only to publish video we produced.

When it connects to one of those accounts, the platform issues us an access token. Tokens are stored on our own computer, are never sent to any third party, and are used solely to upload our videos and to read back the account’s own posting settings (for example, which privacy options that account allows). The software collects no information about viewers, followers, or other creators, and we have no access to your activity on those platforms beyond the public engagement numbers the platform shows any account holder about their own posts.

If you interact with us on one of those platforms, that interaction is governed by the platform’s own privacy policy, not this one.

Your rights

You can ask us to remove your email from our list at any time - just contact us.
